Orange & Black Give Back Day PDF Print E-mail

On Wednesday May 9th students and staff from the Middle School participated in their give back day to the community. The students and staff went to 43 different sites around the community to help with projects. They spent the morning painting, weeding, planting, mulching, and cleaning at the various sites.

We had a ton of support from the community to make the day possible. Whether it was donations of money, food, supplies or helping chaperone that day, we couldn’t have done it without you.

We would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for supporting the Middle School Orange & Black Give Back day: Federation Bank, Hills Bank, Mahaska Bottling, Fareway, Lebowski’s Rock & Bowl, WMS PIE group, CBI Bank & Trust, Kelly Smith & Family, Jennifer Turner & Family, Tricia Kroll & Family, Tad Hunt & Family, Cathy Kleese, Charla Howard & Family, Terry Kirk & Family, Don Sobaski & Family, Katie McCleary & Family, Mary Gilchrist-Brock & Family, Heather Greiner & Family, Nichole Kitchen & Family, Junalyn VanderPol & Family, Angie Janecek & Family, Kirk Bailey & Family, April Six & Family, Marcy Murphy & Family, Janet Conrad & Family, Kim Messinger & Family, Tammy LaBelle, Julie Evans, Kathleen Almelien, Sue Kinsinger, Jim Almelien, Jeanne Prochaska, Bradley Brayman and Pam Vonpongya.

Washington Middle School Awards PDF Print E-mail

Each year WMS bestows awards upon students who have gone above and beyond both in and out of the classroom. Here is a brief description of each award and how recipients are selected:

Student of the month recipients were nominated by staff and selected by grade level teams on a monthly basis. Students who are nominated exemplify the core values of being respectful, responsible, and safe in and out of the classroom.

Highest Scholastic Honors are awarded to students who have maintained a 4.0 throughout the year

Citizenship award nominees are determined based on students who received student of the month. Teachers vote to narrow the field to 3 students. The citizenship award winners are selected by their grade level peers.
