HS: Rockwell Field Trip Print

Earlier this month, students from Mr. Richard's classrooms went on a field trip to ROCKWELL COLLINS in Cedar Rapids. Students were divided into smaller groups and took guided tours through the Rockwell Facility. They learned about GPS technology, vectors, synthetic vision data display (enhances visibility and shows "night vision" of terrain so pilots can "see" at night). Other highlights were getting to see an innovative navigational system, seeing hands on virtual prototype modeling (3D) using video, visiting a heat transfer lab and understanding infra-red heat measurement. It was great to see the innovative technology that is being put to use in the aircraft industry.
