HS: National Archery Competition Print

The National Archery Competition was held this past weekend in Louisville, Kentucky. The Washington High School team competed and finished 142 out of the 475 schools that qualified for the tournament. The team scored 3208 points with 126 bullseyes. This places our archers in the top 30% in the United States. Leading the team at the tournament was John S who scored 289 out of a possible 300 points. He had 19 bullseyes. John finished 81st out of 5734 boys & 13th for his age division. Jade W was the next best shooter; she scored 281 out of a possible 300 points. She had 15 bullseyes. Jade placed 179th out of 4709 girls & 35th for her age division. The tournament also held a 3D shoot (animal targets are shot at) for the first time. High scorers were: Ryan W who scored 268 points (finished 212 out of 1128 boys --25th in his age division) & Alex S who shot a 258 (finished 176 out of 875 girls -- 21st in her age division). Congratulations ARCHERS on a great year!!!!
