MS: Sept Student of the Month Print

The Washington Middle School announces STUDENT OF THE MONTH recognizing positive contributions of students. These contributions range from assisting teachers/ peers in classroom activities; to displaying characteristics as a role model in and out of the classroom. The process for these students being named as Students of the Month is: Each teacher is given a nomination form on or around the 15th of the month and they are able to nominate one student or multiple students if they feel they have more than one deserving student or teach more than one grade level. Every student nominated is then given a certificate that has the recommendation for receiving the award, a certificate from Pizza Ranch and a coupon from Pizza Ranch for a free small pizza or buffet. They also receive a card that entitles them to one of the following: a free pass to a Washington High School event, a Washington Middle School event, a daily homework coupon, a day membership at the "Y" or one free rental at Family Video. Mr. Mayer also lets the students pick a paperback book of their choice. The goal is to see that every student receives this award at least once during the three years they spend at the Middle School level.
