MS: Tulip Time Parade Print

The Washington Middle School Marching Band hadn't performed at the Pella Tulip Time Parade since 2012 which meant this was a new experience for everyone! It was quite an experience- a trip to Pella with their band comrades and playing in the big Tulip Time Parade! The band played the powerful "Carpathia", a concert band piece the band adapted for marching band, as they marched down the streets of Pella. Since snow had canceled the parade in May of 2013; the current members watched the weather forecast with concern as rain chances loomed over every day of the week except Saturday. As luck would have it, the weather was perfect! The band not only performed in the afternoon, but in the evening lighted parade as well. Members of the band wore glow sticks, lighted suspenders and anything else that would help light up the band during the night parade. All 65 members of the Advanced Band made the trip.
