Iowa Assessment Print

Washington Community School District has received Iowa Assessments results; a series of tests measuring important aspects of the Iowa Core. We are pleased to announce that all WCSD grade levels class scores, 3-11 grade, fall within or above their grade level proficiency range in Reading Comprehension, Math and Science using National Standard Score (NSS). NSS is a score that describes performance on an achievement continuum from K- 12 grade. Iowa requires that schools report scores in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, & 11th grade. Washington students in grades 9 & 10 also scored at their grade level proficiency as well in all areas. The NSS allows you to monitor your student’s growth and compare performance from year to year. The NSS is also used in Iowa to determine your student’s level of proficiency in reading, mathematics and science. This is the first year students in Iowa will be assessed with the Iowa Assessment in place of the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Iowa Test of Educational Development (ITED). Since this is the first year of this new assessment, this will serve as the baseline year to monitor growth. The results reported are based on the National Standard Score as opposed to the National Percentile Rank (NPR).

The following are grade level reports. Bold-faced numbers indicate a class that scored at least one grade level above their grade level’s proficiency range. Scores not in bold scored within their grade level proficiency range:
