Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the United States Constitution by 39 brave people on September 17, 1787. The delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the document they had created. This is an important day in our nation's history and all our schools will be observing this important day. Stewart is providing an announcement in the morning that discusses Constitution Day and then have a video that the classes will watch. Lincoln students have a variety of activities: looking at a copy of the Constitution, watching a video explaining our Constitution; and/ or reading a book about the Constitution. The Middle School is providing an announcement in the morning that discusses Constitution Day; then have a video that classes will watch in connections that week. The High School has a Constitution Day Assembly to honor this important day with information about the Honor Flight our salute to the many Veterans that have served our country. One student will be selected to take part in the Honor Flight along with the local veterans in the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Many students within our school district are also writing letters to the Veterans on the Honor Flight. Happy Constitution Day!
