Lincoln: Clay, Clay & MORE Clay! Print

Over two and half days, our students at Lincoln Elementary created a lot of clay leaves, critters and other pieces for our final art sculpture. The final art sculpture will be placed towards the south end of Lincoln, partly facing 4th Ave. Artists, Pam Dennis & Ryk Weiss from Ogden, Iowa work together making mixed media sculptures with things like clay, willow, metal, etc. They do a lot of artist in residence experiences with schools, as well as projects for hire. Currently they are working on a project for Reimen Gardens in Ames, Iowa. We are lucky to have them work with us on this spectacular tree sculpture for our school grounds. Pam & Ryk will visit again at the end of the month and work with small groups of 5th graders assembling & installing the final sculpture. The students have done an amazing job on this and the project has created a lot of excitement within Lincoln Elementary. Pictured here is the art in progress as well as what it will look like when it is done.
