Aviation Activities for Lincoln Students Print

Aviation Day for 45 of Lincoln's sixth graders was held on Saturday, October 9th at the Washington Airport.  Activities for the students included getting to ride in an airplane, learning how helicopters and airplanes work, setting off pop bottle rockets, and making paper tube and straw airplanes.  All attending students received a free airplane ride, t-shirt, pizza, pop and other items.  We would like to thank the Washington Airport Commission with the Pilot's Association of Washington, the Cedar Rapids Chapter EAA 33 Young Eagles Program, and the Iowa Aviation Promotions Group for a wonderful day!
