Stewart: Science Compost Project Print

DaShaun and Tayven are digging in the dirt and learning at the same time! This compost bag project is part of a new Science Kit Lesson. It is part of a SOIL unit from Grant Wood Area Education Agency. Students get to make a compost bag of grass clippings, bark, banana peels, dried leaves, eggshells, food products and redworms. They watch it turn from old compost to rich soil within a six-week period. Eventually, they will return it to a garden/ planting area on Stewart school grounds. Thank you teacher, Miss Liz Goodwin, for letting me visit and see this great project!
