WEA recognizes Volunteer Print

Each school year the Washington Education Association gives its members a chance to recognize community people who have volunteered to make a difference in the lives of Washington students. This year’s winner was Sherry Ives, nominated by kindergarten teacher Barbara Donkersloot.

Each day Ives walks from her home on North 4th to Stewart Elementary School where she helps Mrs. Donkersloot and her students. She arrives after the morning recess and does a variety of things until the class goes to lunch.
