The Washington Middle School Band would like to thank the Washington
Riverboat Foundation for their generous donation toward new instruments
for the Middle School Band program. With the $10,000 and a $1000 parent
donation we were able to purchase much needed school owned instruments
that have not been replaced since the 1970s and 1980s. The instruments
include a Baritone Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, French Horn,
Baritone/Euphonium, Vibes, Xylophone, Electric piano (w/ stand, amp,
pedal and accessories), and patch cord cables. These are instruments
typically owned by schools and rented by students. A few of these
instruments were non-existent at Washington Middle School before this
purchase was made. In some cases, it provides an opportunity for
students who could otherwise not afford to buy or rent their own
instrument.
