Vijay Venkatesh & Eva Schaumkell (V&S,) a piano duet

Vijay Venkatesh & Eva Schaumkell (V&S,) a piano duet, orchestrate delightful coordination with four hands on one piano.  It is amazing to watch as their hands dance across and along the keyboard! 

Their performance as part of the Washington Performing Arts Series on November 18 at 7:30 P.M. is largely classical featuring Bach, Brahms, and Mozart.  Their repertoire also includes some Gershwin and other familiar tunes.  Members and concert goers will be in for a unique entertainment experience at the Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center located at 1111 South Avenue B in Washington, Iowa.

Vijay Venkatesh is a native of California of Indian descent and holds a doctorate from USC.  He has studied and performed around the world as a soloist and appeared on From the Top on NPR. 

Eva is a native of Germany who is a doctoral student at USC in Los Angeles.  She has performed all over the US, Europe, and Middle East, and in many famed venues of the world including Buckingham Palace.  

Together Vieness provide a sensory experience for audiences who get to see their magical coordination sharing one keyboard, while listening to the complexities of beautiful melodies.  Eva & Vijay also enjoy communicating with the audience featuring information on the composers, the piece, or the experiences performing.

Anyone not already a member of the new collaboration of Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center (WAPAEC) and Washington Concert Association can go online at WashingtonAuditorium.org for more information and to purchase tickets. Single and season tickets also are sold at the door the night of concert.  Season ticket $50.  Single adult ticket $18.  College age $10.00 and K-12 $5.00.  K-12 are free if they accompany season ticket holder. Masks and social distancing in the auditorium are recommended.
